So I bought this with as kind of an add-on to another purchase from Third Team.
I have in my ref gear Thirteen distinct whistles. I use like three of them regularly, and for whatever reason, very few Fox products. Maybe because they’re ubiquitous and I want a different sound, or one model feels to small in my hand and another’s mouthpiece doesn’t seem to give me consistent results. But anyway, I bought the EPIK.
It’s a shrill whistle, it has a lot of high-frequency sound, but seemed to carry well. You can be expressive with it by varying blow-pressure and trilling with the tongue. It’s comfortable in the hand. During the game I just forgot about it, and my fingers naturally gravitated to the shape. I’d give that part high marks. All in all, it’s pretty cool, and in my mind one of the top Fox40 offerings.
